Can we talk about MENTAL HEALTH?

We just did.

The campaign also featured some familiar faces who show what talking about mental health with mates can look like.

You’ll see Lachy McIntyre (batyr facilitator + TikTok legend), actress and batyr storyteller Tal Davida, and fellow storyteller Vanessa getting real about the stuff that’s hard to say out loud. It’s honest. It’s a little uncomfortable. And it’s exactly what young people need to see more of.

Our research shows that friends are often the first responders. On average, young Aussies spend 3.5 hours a week supporting their mates, but most don’t have the tools to know how to help - or what to do when things get serious. That’s where batyr steps in. After seeing a batyr@school program, over three quarters of young people say they feel confident supporting a friend through a mental health challenge.

We’re incredibly grateful to the legends at Resolve and Vidzero for generously donating their time and skills to make this campaign possible. A big thank you to our friends at UM and UnLtd for going above and beyond in helping us spread our campaign far and wide with so many generous media partners.
