The decision, made jointly by Katie and the batyr Board, reflects a shared focus on ensuring the organisation is well-positioned for its next chapter.
Since joining batyr, Katie has played a pivotal role in expanding the organisation’s reach and influence across Australia and internationally. Under her leadership, batyr has secured critical funding to expand digital platforms like OurHerd, amplified youth voices in national policy discussions, and laid the foundations for batyr’s long-term strategic direction.
Katie shared that her decision comes after a period of personal reflection:
"It’s been an incredible privilege to lead batyr and work alongside a team so deeply committed to making a difference in young people’s lives. After losing my mum earlier this year and carrying a lot personally and professionally, I’ve made the decision to take some time to focus on my own wellbeing. I remain proud of what we’ve achieved and will remain one of batyr’s strongest supporters.”
Katie will be finishing up in the role at the end of this week. The Board thanks Katie for her contribution and leadership, and wishes her the very best in her next chapter.
We look forward to sharing with you the exciting news of batyr’s next CEO shortly. As always, we remain committed to our mission, continuing to play a critical role in educating young people, working towards our 2030 goals, and delivering vital preventative mental health programs.
batyr looks forward to continuing to engage with its community of supporters, partners, and young people as it enters this new phase.
