Tom Riley

Being Herd Coordinator (Melbourne)

Tom has been studying and working in youth mental health since 2012 when he became involved with MindMatters as an intern. He picked up a psych degree from RMIT, and then went back to do his Honours year in the social sciences. His thesis was on teachers’ views of mobile phones and how the digital age has impacted student wellbeing. This led to a job at the Young and Well Cooperative Research Centre coordinating dozens of amazing projects designed to improve how we use technology to support young people’s mental health.

Tom joined batyr’s Melbourne division as Being Herd Coordinator to help grow batyr’s programs and make positive impact for young people in Victoria. In his spare time Tom enjoys playing and listening to cool music, taking photos of people, being silly with his friends, and watching Star Trek, of course.
