Gab grew up moving around South-East Asia, and remembers as a child her first love (aside from her rabbit, Charlie) was her big notebook she’d fill with stories. Following her love of story-telling, she went on to study communications at Charles Sturt University in Bathurst, and then ventured way up north to Denmark to study Documentary Film Production at the European Film College. Back in sunny Australia, she’s spent her time working in media and production for not-for-profits and mental health projects, and her side project, training barbers in safe conversation, getting men checking in on their mental health as often as they get their haircut. Gab’s so excited to be working as batyr’s Media and Marketing coordinator, because she shares the same belief in the power of story-telling to smash the stigma, and wishes a program like batyr had been around whilst she was at school. Outside of work, Gab’s happiest spending time on adventures by the beach with her dog, Molly, or exploring our many national parks.
