We're super stoked to share all the amazing things we've been up to in our Quarterly Update.
Thanks to the invaluable support of our community, we're making significant headway in empowering young Aussies with the skills and confidence to get mental health support before they reach crisis.

Parliamentary Friends of Youth Mental Health Showcase
Our CEO Nic Brown and Head of Data and Insights Josh Wiseman represented batyr at the 'Mental Health Australia Parliamentary Advocacy Day' and the 'Parliamentary Friends of Youth Mental Health Showcase.'
After participating in two events and engaging in discussions with various MPs, a clear and unified message emerged. It emphasised the need for a multi-faceted approach to addressing mental health challenges, including earlier youth interventions, localised needs-based initiatives and increased support for the demand on acute services.
Thank you to Kylea Tink MP, Hon Chris Bowen MP, Senator Karen Grogan and Hon Mark Butler MP for including us in the discussion and allowing us to share the work that batyr is doing in the sector - we’re excited to see what action these discussions lead to for mental health in Australia.
LivingWorks Australia Partnership
We announced our partnership with the awesome team at LivingWorks Australia as part of our involvement in the National Suicide Prevention Leadership and Support Program (NSPLSP), backed by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care.
The program aims to reach over 30,000 high school and tertiary students with evidence-based mental health and suicide prevention activities. This includes training 600 individuals aged 15-30 in suicide prevention skills using 'safeTALK' workshops.

Lived Experience Youth Engagement Resource Launched
As co-chair of the Global Mental Health Action Group’s Child and Youth Working Group, batyr’s Head of Global Impact Stephanie Vasiliou had the opportunity to co-author a collaborative resource on best practice principles associated with lived experience youth engagement.
This resource was developed alongside Unicef, Orygen and United for Global Mental Health, with input from over 80 people internationally.
The resource is a set of guiding principles for anyone who works with, or engages with young people living with mental health conditions. They outline best practice, and give a true sense of what young people value in their engagement.
