In Australia, 1 in 4 young people experience mental-ill health, and rates of psychological distress have increased in the last decade. Tragically, suicide and self-harm is the leading cause of death for young people. I am one of those 1 in 4 and I want/need to help in any way I can! Growing up I wish I had the knowledge and resources to understand why I felt that way and to also to help with how to cope and combat depression. Well, now I have the opportunity to be that support for other young Australians and to aid them in ways I didn't. And now I turn to You, to help me support them the way you have supported me! By supporting batyr, you're helping empower young people with the confidence, finding the resources and skills to get through tough times and look out for their friends and family. Through sharing lived experience stories and peer-to-peer education, we are keeping young people from reaching the point of crisis and changing lives.
