In Australia, 1 in 4 young people experience mental-ill health, and rates of psychological distress have increased in the last decade. Tragically, suicide is the leading cause of death for young people. By supporting batyr, we’re helping empower young people with the confidence and skills to get through tough times and look out for their mates. Through sharing lived experience stories and peer-to-peer education, we are keeping young people from reaching the point of crisis and changing lives. Mental health awareness is so important to me as myself have experienced depression & anxiety. I have been receiving support from psychologists since I was 13 & they help me tremendously even when things are going well! We need to normalise talking about mental health & that it is okay to not be okay.
