I’m passionate about supporting youth mental health because, at just 16 years old, I’ve seen firsthand how many people around me have been diagnosed with mental health conditions. Mental wellbeing is something that affects so many young people — including friends, classmates, and families — and I want to help create change and start more conversations that remind others they’re not alone. In Australia, 1 in 4 young people experience mental ill-health, and rates of psychological distress have increased in the last decade. Tragically, suicide is the leading cause of death for young people. By supporting Batyr, we’re helping empower young people with the confidence and skills to get through tough times and look out for their mates. Through sharing lived experience stories and peer-to-peer education, Batyr keeps young people from reaching the point of crisis — and is truly changing lives. Your support means more than you know.
