My name is Taesha Souter. I am 17 years old and have been selected to compete in Australia Galaxy 2025 As Part of the Galaxy program, I have decided to fundraise for batyr. This organisation helps support young adults with mental health. As you probably know everyone does struggle with mental health, especially young adults. In Australia, 1 in 4 young people experience mental-ill health, and rates of psychological distress have increased in the last decade. Tragically, suicide is the leading cause of death for young people. By supporting batyr, we’re helping empower young people with the confidence and skills to get through tough times and look out for their mates. Through sharing lived experience stories and peer-to-peer education, we are keeping young people from reaching the point of crisis and changing lives.
