In Australia, 1 in 4 young people experience mental-ill health, and rates of psychological distress have increased in the last decade. Tragically, suicide is the leading cause of death for young people. As someone who has struggled with mental illness it is something I am very passionate about making a safe and supportive place for youth that struggle. By supporting batyr, we’re helping empower young people with the confidence and skills to get through tough times and look out for their mates. Through sharing lived experience stories and peer-to-peer education, we are keeping young people from reaching the point of crisis and changing lives.
