Welcome to my fundraising page! I’m proudly a 2024 Mrs Galaxy Australia national finalist representing the golden state of Western Australia and raising funds for the charity batyr. Australia Galaxy Pageants is a fast growing pageant providing a platform for women of all backgrounds to become the best version of themselves. As part of my journey to the national final I am fundraising and raising awareness for batyr, a charity that is close to my heart. batyr is a for purpose preventative mental health charitable organisation, created and driven by young people, for young people. In my professional career as a lawyer, I have witnessed the significance of mental health in our justice system. In Australia, 1 in 4 young people experience mental-ill health, and rates of psychological distress have increased in the last decade. Tragically, suicide is the leading cause of death for young people. I have personally felt the devastating impact of this, having lost my good friend to suicide. I believe that helping to break the stigma of mental health will help influence young people to feel empowered to reach out for help and support for any mental health matters that they may be dealing with. By supporting batyr, we’re helping empower young people with the confidence and skills to get through tough times and look out for their friends. Through sharing lived experience stories and peer-to-peer education, we are keeping young people from reaching the point of crisis and changing lives. Every donation, large or small will have a lasting impact and will directly benefit young people with their mental health. I thank you so kindly for your support in my fundraising for batyr.
