In Australia, 1 in 4 young people experience mental-ill health, and rates of psychological distress have increased in the last decade. Tragically, suicide is the leading cause of death for young people. By supporting batyr, we’re helping empower young people with the confidence and skills to get through tough times and look out for their mates. Through sharing lived experience stories and peer-to-peer education, we are keeping young people from reaching the point of crisis and changing lives. Why i'm fundraising for batyr? I'm fundraising for batyr because their youth-led approach aligns with the core principles of what I believe in. By listening to and empowering young people, batyr exemplifies the belief in the individual's potential to be a catalyst for positive change. Their commitment to understanding the experiences and voices of young people aligns perfectly with the importance of self-awareness, embracing new experiences, and overcoming challenges. Together, our shared values emphasize the power of kindness and love, inspiring individuals to believe in themselves and take responsibility for shaping a better future. Through their research and programs, batyr contributes to the creation of a brighter world where young voices are heard, and everyone can make a difference.
