White Elephant Winter Ball

The White Elephant Winter Ball is held in Tamworth every July. Held in memory of Scotty Campbell who lost his battle with depression and anxiety in 2013, the event aims to create awareness of mental health in the community and raise funds for batyr.

The highly popular event (selling out in two minutes last year) includes a three-course meal, entertainment and a guest speaker.

Since 2014 the White Elephant Winter Ball has raised over $300,000 for batyr. These invaluable funds allowed batyr to employ a staff member in the local area and continue to run programs, that aim to smash the stigma surrounding mental health and empower young people to reach out for help.

“We continue to be amazed, inspired and grateful for the wonderful community support we continue to receive,” event organiser Katrina Campbell said..

“We are so pleased to see that something positive has come from something so terrible. Let’s all work together to help prevent further tragedies.”

In 2017 we are looking for new committee members to keep the momentum going and to organise another amazing ball. If this sounds like you or someone you know please email Nick at nick@batyr.com.au
