Operations Manager (Sydney)

Position Description

The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing continuous improvements to the day to day operations at batyr. Working closely with the General Manager and leadership team, this role will ensure batyr staff are equipped to undertake their roles in the most efficient and effective way possible. Adapting processes and procedures to continually be improved whilst aligning to the batyr culture and the best practice ways of doing things will be critical. Ongoing oversight of policies, insurance requirements and reporting to the batyr Committees and Board will also be required.

About you

You love to create order and thrive when you’re organised, making people jealous of your wicked spreadsheet skills. Your talents lie in the background work ‘making things happen’ to ensure everything runs like a well-oiled machine. You’re able to take on multiple responsibilities with competence, while balancing having a grand ol’ time coaching others to take on your efficient ways of doing things. When working in a team you love finding ways to make everyone feel involved, uniting people and smoothing relations in order to get things done. Your friends describe you as hardworking, consistent, reliable and always eager to lend a hand.

Being Herd Pathways Support Coordinator (Sydney)

Position Description

The Being Herd program at batyr trains and supports young people to build the skills and confidence to share lived experiences of mental ill health and their journey reaching out for support. We are currently in the process of building an additional stream to our Being Herd Program that supports young people who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET), to build the confidence and skills to identify strengths in their mental health journey and in their ability to gain employment.

About you

You are an administrative champion who is excited about a role that isn’t just ‘typical admin’. You are an adaptive, quick learner who shows initiative and isn’t afraid to muck in to get work done, whether it be in the office making sure you are ahead of the game with tasks, or out in the community building relationships. When things get hectic, you are the calm in the storm and are at ease with shifting priorities. You are also passionate about reducing the stigma around mental health for young people, and supporting them in finding meaningful employment. You love to take advantage of new opportunities, and want a role that allows you to be flexible, and presents you with new opportunities and challenges.

Being Herd Workshop Coordinator (Sydney)

Position Description

The Workshop Coordinator will be responsible for the recruitment, coordination, logistics and delivery of Being Herd workshops for batyr with a focus on Sydney and Regional NSW. The successful applicant will embody the necessary skills to facilitate workshops in an engaging and empathetic way, build and maintain quality relationships and possess strong organisational and administrative skills.

About you

You are passionate about storytelling, and can see significant value in the sharing of lived experience. You care deeply about smashing the stigma around mental health, and want to work as part of a team that is fuelled with a passion to make a meaningful difference. You’re organised, hard-working, innovative, and you’re also no stranger to thinking and working strategically; looking at the big picture to discover how you can move the work of your organisation forward through considered actions, new opportunities and relationships.

Facilitator Coordinator (NSW)

Position Description

The Facilitator Coordinator will work with the team to drive the recruitment, training and development of our casual team of Facilitators and Coordinators to deliver our batyr@school, batyr@uni and batyr@work programs. batyr prides itself on the quality of our programs and this role will be pivotal to ensuring that our programs are delivered in the safest and most engaging way possible.

About you

You relate to Morpheus, Yoda, Master Splinter the racoon sensei from Kung Fu Panda, because these characters are masters in training and development. You are also a master of Facilitation and Engaging with young people. You love driving conversations and orchestrating group dynamics by bringing all the energy and getting people excited and passionate. You have your ear to the ground on everything pop culture and youth-related from the latest netflix binge series to embarrassingly knowing all the words to Ariana Grande’s latest hit.
